Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
David seeks any remaining member of Saul's house to show kindness for Jonathan's sake; he learns of Mephibosheth, Jonathan's crippled son, living in Lo-debar.
Neville's Inner Vision
In this passage, David is your higher self—your I AM—reaching into the memory of the old self (Saul's house) to bestow grace for Jonathan's sake. Mephibosheth, the son who is lame, represents a part of your consciousness crippled by fear or lack. Lo-debar, the place of desolation, marks a mind separated from its true being. The question, Is there any left that I may show kindness unto him? is the decisive move of consciousness to awaken grace. The kindness of God unto him is the realization that your true nature is grace embodied, not lack. Covenant loyalty binds you to Jonathan—the beloved memory of divine favor that never abandons you. The scene invites you to perceive that your old limitations are not defeated by outward acts but by an inner act of imagination: the I AM extends mercy to the whole self, restoring dignity, movement, and light. Your job is to align with this covenant and feel the healing power of grace here and now.
Practice This Now
Assume you are already in David's hall, extending kindness to your Mephibosheth; revise any sense of lack by declaring, I am the grace of God in action, and watch as limitation softens and you awaken to movement.
