Read 2 Samuel 7 in context

Scripture Focus

20And what can David say more unto thee? for thou, Lord GOD, knowest thy servant.
21For thy word's sake, and according to thine own heart, hast thou done all these great things, to make thy servant know them.
2 Samuel 7:20-21

Biblical Context

David acknowledges that God truly knows his servant. He also states that God’s word and heart have moved to reveal the great things so the servant may know them.

Neville's Inner Vision

Picture David's line as a mirror of your own inner life. The 'servant' is your current self, your conditioned mind, and 'thou, Lord GOD, knowest thy servant' is the awakening that the Self—the I AM—knows every state you entertain. God is not a distant ruler but the inherent awareness within you, the I AM that gives meaning to every thought and feeling. When the text says 'for thy word's sake, and according to thine own heart,' interpret 'word' as the decree you plant in mind and heart, and 'according to thy own heart' as alignment with your deepest truth. The mighty deeds described are not external favors, but inner awakenings—the mind reorganizing itself so you may recognize what has always been true. Thus the covenant is a state of consciousness in which your life conforms to the intelligent design of your inner I AM. To practice, assume the end and dwell in the feeling that it is already true; revise every lack sentence by sentence until your life demonstrates the very promises you seek.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Sit quietly, place a hand on your heart, and declare, 'The I AM within me knows me and has already brought all things to pass; I now know them.' Then close your eyes and feel the certainty as if the fulfilled promise stands in this moment.
