Inner Dance Of Humble Worship
2 Samuel 6:21-22 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 2 Samuel 6 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
David declares he will worship before the LORD and value divine choosing over human praise; he expresses humility while affirming his royal calling.
Neville's Inner Vision
Before the inner I AM, David stands as an inner king who dances not to please Michal or the crowd, but to honor the Presence within. The LORD is not a distant temple but the awareness that chooses, appoints, and enthrones the self. The dance is imagination in action: a visible symbol of the still, small 'I AM' moving with joy. Humility here is not a negation of power but a refinement of how power is used; the state of being that does not seek prideful applause, but the true honor that comes when the self, seeing itself as chosen and beloved by the Lord, expresses freely before the Lord. The "more vile" line is a revision of self-conception: you are willing to be seen as less by the world's standards to be seen whole by the divine standard. The maidservants' approval fades before the inner audience of God; the inner king takes delight in obedience, not in fame. In you, the Present Lord dances as you, and your imagination is the instrument through which your kingship is realized in consciousness.
Practice This Now
Assume the state: I am chosen by the LORD; I will worship freely before Him. Revise any urge for human approval and feel-it-real by imagining the inner audience as the Lord’s presence applauding your authentic worship.
