The Inner Ark of Awareness
2 Samuel 6:2-5 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 2 Samuel 6 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
David and the people bring the Ark of God from Abinadab's house to Baale of Judah, setting it on a new cart. They accompany the procession with harps, psalteries, timbrels, and cymbals, praising the LORD.
Neville's Inner Vision
Here the ark is the symbol of your innermost I AM, the consciousness that hosts God. The expedition from Baale of Judah into the middle of praise marks a turning of your attention from the outer house to the inner sanctuary. The new cart you employ represents a fresh state of assumption, an outer apparatus you trust to carry the inner reality, yet the real force is your decision to inhabit a state of worship. When Uzzah and Ahio drive the ark, notice how the moving of consciousness is a joint venture of will and feeling, beliefs guiding emotion, imagination giving form to your desire. Ahio going before signals readiness to precede the Presence with joyous light; the people played before the LORD on harps, psalteries, timbrels, cornets, and cymbals. In Neville's view these instruments are the vibrational harmonics of the mind, the music of a consciousness that knows it is one with God. The key is not ceremony but inner alignment: feel the Presence already dwelling within you, and let the ark's journey radiate from your heart. So revise: the ark is within; assume the feeling you are the ark-bearing consciousness, and the Presence is already with you.
Practice This Now
Imaginative Act: Close your eyes and declare in the present tense, I am the Ark of God within. Feel this Presence settle in your chest and carry you through the day.
