Inner Breakthrough at Baal-Perazim
2 Samuel 5:19-21 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 2 Samuel 5 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
David asks the LORD for deliverance, goes up, defeats the Philistines at Baal-perazim, and observes that the LORD's power has broken forth; they burn the idols left behind.
Neville's Inner Vision
David is not a distant king, but the I AM within you consulting its own consciousness. When he asks, 'Shall I go up,' the answer is an inner command: Go up, for the breakthrough is assured in your state of awareness. The battle at Baal-perazim is the moment when awareness breaks through resistance like a flood, a breach of waters that sweep away fear. The place is named for the revelation: your inner landscape shifts, and what seemed solid—your enemies—are swept aside by the power you have allowed to rise. The idols left by the Philistines are internal beliefs you have worshiped rather than truths you have known. By burning them, you purify your mind, making room for the one Presence within to reign. This is not a conquest of others but a purification of your sense of self. When you hold this as your present reality—the I AM, the God within—your outer world follows as naturally as water seeking its course.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and imagine the I AM speaking Go up; feel the victory already yours. Revise any lingering fear as an idol you burn away with the inner flame of awareness.
