2 Samuel 3:20-21 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Abner arrives with his men, and David hosts a feast; Abner seeks to unite Israel under David’s kingship, and David sends him away in peace.
Neville's Inner Vision
Notice how the scene unfolds inside: Abner approaches with followers, and David, the king in you, sets a feast. This feast is a ritual of hospitality by which your consciousness consents to a covenant with itself. Abner’s proposal to gather all Israel under your lord the king represents the inner movement to unite the many parts of you—thoughts, memories, dreams—under a single, steadfast I AM. When David says, let us have a feast, he is saying, let the habit of reverent attention rule the inner house. The line that you may reign over all that thine heart desireth declares that sovereignty is not imposed from without but realized within as alignment between will and vision. The peace that follows—David sending Abner away and Abner going in peace—signifies that once the inner states are reconciled, the outward world reflects calm. In this moment, the Kingdom of God is your inner government alive in harmony, your desires organized under one ruler. The earth responds as you assume and feel the new state real.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Close your eyes and see Abner approach with his men. Host the inner feast and declare I AM king of this inner Israel, feeling the unity and peace that follows.
