Inner Covenant With David
2 Samuel 3:12-13 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Abner asks David to form a league to unite Israel; David agrees, but imposes the condition that Michal, Saul’s daughter, must be brought before he will meet Abner.
Neville's Inner Vision
Here the land Abner speaks of is your inner realm, and the league is a decision to permit the I AM, your higher Self, to govern the affairs of your mind. David stands for that sovereign I AM inside you, the king of kings over your thoughts, desires, and actions. Abner’s message—Make thy league with me—becomes a call to unite outward appearances with inner rule, to stop letting appearances dictate you. David’s condition—thou shalt not see my face until Michal is brought—teaches that the true King will reveal himself only when you bring before the inner image of your worth (Michal), used here as the beloved image of your true self. Michal could symbolize your self-respect, the image you cherish as royalty. Until you honor that image, the inner king remains unseen by your senses. The Kingdom of God, then, is not in a distant land but in your state of consciousness; align your inner worlds, imagine the covenant, and watch your inner Israel stream toward your command.
Practice This Now
Assume the feeling 'I AM the king of my inner land' and declare a covenant with that Self. Visualize presenting Michal, the image of your true worth, before the King and feel your inner realm aligning to his rule.
