Scripture Focus

15And David longed, and said, Oh that one would give me drink of the water of the well of Bethlehem, which is by the gate!
2 Samuel 23:15

Biblical Context

David longs for the water of the well of Bethlehem, a craving that signals a deeper inner hunger for nourishment. In Neville's sense, the longing points to an inner state you can access now.

Neville's Inner Vision

Beloved, the verse invites you to notice that David's longing is not for a distant drink but for a state of consciousness. Bethlehem stands as the house of bread within, the inner gate where your awareness resides. The well represents the spontaneous provision of your I AM, the living water that springs from the fountain of imagination. When David says he would drink of that water, he is naming the possibility already present in you: a fulfillment that does not come from without, but from your own act of awareness. Your thirst is a signal that you have not yet fully recognized the reality of your inner supply. By assuming the feeling of the wish fulfilled, you cause the inner movements to align with a state in which the water has already been dispensed. Drink in that inner vision with gratitude; let the mind rest in the sensation of having it now. The gate is merely a boundary between seeming lack and the certainty of fulfillment; step through it by choosing to live from the I AM, and the water flows as natural consequence.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and imagine drinking the water from Bethlehem's well; feel the throat and heart settling as your thirst is quenched. Rest in the present certainty that you are the I AM and the water is within you.
