Inner Anointing Of David

2 Samuel 23:1-2 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 2 Samuel 23 in context

Scripture Focus

1Now these be the last words of David. David the son of Jesse said, and the man who was raised up on high, the anointed of the God of Jacob, and the sweet psalmist of Israel, said,
2The Spirit of the LORD spake by me, and his word was in my tongue.
2 Samuel 23:1-2

Biblical Context

David declares that his words come as the Spirit speaks through him. He asserts that God's word was in his tongue.

Neville's Inner Vision

David's so-called last words reveal a daily consciousness: the I AM standing behind every voice you speak. The 'man raised up on high, the anointed' is the state of awareness you call forth, not a man in history. When you say 'The Spirit of the LORD spake by me, and his word was in my tongue,' you are declaring that your imagination acts as the channel of divinity. The Spirit isn't external to you; it is your own awakened consciousness, speaking through your inner voice. Your tongue becomes the instrument through which God-talk passes, and your life becomes the visible Psalm of Israel—your inner kingdom made manifest. The word that moves your tongue is formed in the mind that accepts itself as with God. Practice not waiting for an external sign, but assuming the state of the spoken word now. When you revise any fear or lack, you are recalling David's trust: you are the vessel, the words you utter are divine decrees, and reality bends to your inward decree.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, affirm 'The Spirit of the LORD speaks through me now,' and feel your inner voice guiding your thoughts; then act as if your words create your reality.
