2 Samuel 22:19-20

Biblical Context

Calamity comes from without, but the Lord is the inner stay that keeps you steady. He brings you into a larger place because He delights in you.

Neville's Inner Vision

Consider the events of 2 Samuel 22:19-20 as a statement of your inner state. The words calamity, stay, large place, and delight all point to a consciousness, not a historical moment. The they that perplex you are the restless thoughts of fear, the day of calamity that seems to press in from without. The LORD, meaning your own I AM awareness, remains the stay that anchors you in the midst of disturbance. When you align with that inner I AM, you are carried into a spacious condition you can inhabit now. The delight of the Lord is the sign that you are being chosen, that your belief is accepted by your own awareness. Your imagination is the instrument by which you move from anxiety to abundance; you do not beg deliverance from without but assume it within. So declare the I AM is my stay, I am led into a large place, and let the feeling of that truth fill every corner of your being.

Practice This Now

Sit quietly and assume the statements I AM is my stay and I am led into a large place; then feel the calm expansion as you inhabit that reality now.
