Light of Israel Within
2 Samuel 21:15-17 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
David fights the Philistines but grows faint; Abishai helps him, and the people vow that he should not go out again, lest the light of Israel be quenched.
Neville's Inner Vision
Take the scene as a scripture of your own consciousness. The Philistine war is the clash of atoms of fear with the certainty of your I AM. David represents the celebrated king within you, the seat of awareness that carries light into your world. When he waxes faint, it is your mind momentarily believing it must prove itself by struggle rather than by being. Ishbibenob, the giant within, wields a spear of weighty belief, threatening to snap the mind's nerve. Abishai, the loyal selfhood within, comes to your aid, not by changing circumstance but by acting from a higher state of consciousness and breaking the giant's hold. The vow of the people that you shall not go out again to battle signals a shift: your inner community insists that you guard the light, not exhaust it in outward conflict. Neville teaches that the light of Israel is the dynamic presence of God within you, constant and unquenchable when you reclaim it by a firm assumption. The battle is won first in consciousness, and the outward scene mirrors that victory.
Practice This Now
Imaginative Act: Close your eyes and assume I AM presence within, revise the belief that fatigue defeats you, and feel the giant fall as the light of Israel grows bright. Feel it real by breathing the certainty that you are already victorious in this very moment.
