Inner Kingship and Kindness
2 Samuel 2:6-7 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 2 Samuel 2 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
David blesses the people and pledges to repay their kindness. He then urges them to strengthen their hands and be valiant, for Saul is dead and Judah has crowned him king.
Neville's Inner Vision
Here the scene is read not as history but as a map of inner consciousness. 'The LORD shew kindness and truth unto you' is the I AM shining upon your awareness, and 'I also will requite you this kindness' marks the mind rewarding itself for faithful attention. 'Let your hands be strengthened, and be ye valiant' is a directive to maintain the feeling of an assumed state despite appearances. 'Your master Saul is dead' signals the old identity dying; 'the house of Judah have anointed me king over them' reveals your inner kingdom recognizing you as the ruler of your life. The Kingdom of God becomes the living certainty that you are the sovereign consciousness expressing kindness, truth, mercy, and courage. In Neville's practice, these verses invite you to dwell in the feeling of already being king, to act from that inner authority, and to let external events reflect your steady inner claim. Be merciful, be faithful, and rule from the I AM within.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes, assume you are already king of your inner kingdom; feel kindness and truth governing your life, and declare, 'I AM the king now' as you step forward with courage.
