Gate of Power: Inner Deployment
2 Samuel 18:4 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 2 Samuel 18 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
David asks for the best plan and stands at the gate while many are ready to move out. The verse portrays leadership guiding a multitude, with inner energies organized and directed by a conscious choice.
Neville's Inner Vision
Picture the king as your I AM, the sovereign center of awareness. The gate is the threshold where attention chooses what to set in motion. When he asks, 'What seemeth you best I will do?' he invites the whole mind to speak through you, not to rule you. The hundreds and thousands are the many thoughts, desires, habits, and powers inside you pressing forward to be used. They are not to be slain but ordered by a unified decree. Your inner army moves in formation because the One Who sees all has spoken through the gate. The true kingdom of God is this inner order: a conscious alignment of many aspects into a single action toward a clear end. When you accept the inner counsel, you are judged and you judge yourself by the results, for you reap what you imaginatively sewed. The feeling of inevitability arises as you stand firm in the assumed plan. The moment of decision precedes the manifestation; you are creating with the inner I AM as director, and the outward crowd flows accordingly.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Sit quietly, declare 'What seems best for me now, I will do.' See the inner crowd align into orderly lines at the gate, then feel the reality of the plan as your thoughts move in confident unity.
