Ark Within the Inner Wilderness
2 Samuel 15:23-29 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 2 Samuel 15 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
David and the people cross the Kidron toward the wilderness; David instructs Zadok to carry the ark back to Jerusalem and then remains in the plain, waiting for guidance.
Neville's Inner Vision
In Neville's language, the outside journey I read as David crossing a brook is the movement of my state of awareness. The brook Kidron and the weeping of the land symbolize a thinning of old assumptions, a clearing in consciousness where the old story is released. The ark of the covenant stands for my I AM—the living, governing awareness that makes all things real. When I say, Carry back the ark into the city, I am not sending away the divine; I am acknowledging that the moment must be governed by inner consent. If I shall find favour in the eyes of the LORD, he will bring me again—this is my willingness to be guided by my inner I AM, not by fear or external circumstance. The instruction to Zadok to return and the mention of seer-hood remind me that true seeing comes from within; the outer events merely reflect the state I hold. Therefore, I remain in the plain of the wilderness, quiet and ready, until the word comes—until realization itself declares my next move. My kingship is the authority of the I AM, acting through me as I align with its wish.
Practice This Now
Sit and imagine standing by the Kidron, then declare, 'I am the one favored by the LORD; the ark returns to my city.' Feel the weight and blessing of the ark within you, and dwell in the stillness until inner guidance declares your next move.
