Inner King and Counselors

2 Samuel 15:12-13 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 2 Samuel 15 in context

Scripture Focus

12And Absalom sent for Ahithophel the Gilonite, David's counsellor, from his city, even from Giloh, while he offered sacrifices. And the conspiracy was strong; for the people increased continually with Absalom.
13And there came a messenger to David, saying, The hearts of the men of Israel are after Absalom.
2 Samuel 15:12-13

Biblical Context

Absalom enlists Ahithophel and others to form a growing conspiracy; a messenger reveals that the hearts of Israel are turning toward Absalom.

Neville's Inner Vision

Absalom's act is a symbol of a fresh state of consciousness rising within you, seeking acknowledgment and rule. His Ahithophel is the inner adviser who voices strategy, justifying departure from the old king. The sacrifices he offers are the ritual acts of devotion you give to a belief in change. The conspiracy growing 'strong' is the intensifying persistence of a new mental atmosphere. When a messenger comes saying the hearts of your inner people are after Absalom, you are being shown that your dominant thoughts, feelings, and beliefs have tilted toward a new ruler. In truth, the kingdom you serve is not the external throne but the I AM within; your imagination is the governor. You can reverse this by assuming the end: that the inner king rules now, that the old advisers dissolve into quiet, and that the outer world begins to align with the inner state you affirm.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, assume the throne of your inner king now, and feel the I AM settling the affairs of your mind. Invite the inner counselors aligned with your desired state and listen as the imagined voices dissolve old conspiracy into quiet obedience.
