The Inner Test of Loyalty
2 Samuel 11:6-9 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
David sends for Uriah and tries to send him home with a feast, hoping to cover his actions; Uriah, however, sleeps at the king's threshold and does not go home, showing steadfast loyalty.
Neville's Inner Vision
In this scene the king represents a state of desire within consciousness, attempting to rewrite reality by pleasure and appearance. David’s summons and the meal are the ego’s tricks to entice the mind to accept a counterfeit outcome. Uriah embodies the faithful presence—the I AM within you that remains loyal to the whole and refuses to enter a scene of self-serving deceit. Uriah’s choice to sleep at the door instead of going to his house is the inner assertion that true power is sovereignty by integrity, not by manipulation. When you recognize the king as a role of consciousness, you can revise the entire scene from the end you desire, not by excuses but by assuming the truth of the I AM as already established. The line about the war prospering becomes a metaphysical notice: outer conditions reflect inner alignment. The Kingdom of God, then, is your consistent state where truth prevails over self-interest, and loyalty to your divine order manifests as harmony in life.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and imagine Uriah as your higher self returning to the inner front line. Assume the feeling of the wish fulfilled: I am loyal to the divine order, and I will not allow counterfeit action to override truth.
