2 Samuel 11:2

Biblical Context

David rises in the evening, goes to the king's roof, and sees a woman washing herself who is very beautiful.

Neville's Inner Vision

This verse is not a distant tale of a king and an object of desire, but a vivid image of your own inner roof of awareness. The evening tide signals a time when the faculties are relaxed and images can seem to take hold. The roof is the vantage point of consciousness; when you 'see' something, you are witnessing a thought-form arising in the mind. The danger lies in identifying with the image and thinking it must govern your actions. The corrective is to awaken to I AM, the unchanging awareness that is the true you. You are the watcher, not the deed; you can revise the moment by assuming the state you desire as already present and letting the impulse melt into light as you remain in peace. Practice a quiet act of revision: notice the impulse, declare I AM, and replace the scene with a sense of integrity and obedience to the divine within. By dwelling in that inner assurance, the image loses its power, and your life reflects purity rather than fear or guilt.

Practice This Now

Imaginative Act: In the next minute, close your eyes, breathe, and affirm I AM the observer of my life. Revise the inner scene so the impulse is seen and replaced by a felt sense of integrity, as if you already live from that state.
