Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Peter states his duty to keep you mindful of these things and to establish you in the present truth. He hints that his departure is near, urging you to hold these reminders so these truths remain with you after he's gone.
Neville's Inner Vision
Peter’s words are not a history lesson but a map of consciousness. When he speaks of reminding you and being established in the present truth, he is describing your ability to hold a fixed state of awareness in the I AM. The 'tabernacle' is your current form or ego-self, which you are invited to outgrow—not by denying life but by shifting attention. The near departure is a metaphor for leaving behind old self-identity, while the living truth remains; you carry it by seeing yourself already in the state you seek. To 'stir you up by putting you in remembrance' is to awaken the imagination; recall these truths until they become your habitual feeling. The present truth is not a distant doctrine but the alive awareness that you are now free to choose the state you desire. In this light, the line about reminding you after his decease becomes a pledge that your inner memory can outlast any transient circumstance. Your inner life—your I AM—can anchor these truths so they endure beyond outward change.
Practice This Now
Practice: close your eyes and imagine the verse as a glowing banner over your chest, affirming 'I am established in the present truth.' Feel yourself already living these reminders, and let that feeling realign your next moment.
