Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Jehu rides toward Jezreel in a chariot while a watchman on a tower notes his approach. Joram asks, 'Is it peace?' signaling a test between the old order and the new movement.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within your heart, Jehu represents a fresh idea in motion, a ruling consciousness asserting itself against the sleeping king in Jezreel. The watchman is your awareness perched in the citadel of mind, noticing how the pictures of your life—people, places, and habits—gather in response to your inner decree. The company the watchman sees is the networking of thoughts and feelings that attend the dawning ascent of a new state of being. When Joram asks 'Is it peace?' that is the old state’s doubt, asking whether the change will endure or merely rest easy for a moment. Jehu's coming signals that a shift in sovereignty is underway; Ahaziah coming down to see Joram mirrors how lower desires come to witness the transformation. The practice is to align with the feeling of inevitable victory: affirm the new king already reigning in your mind, and treat disturbance as a sign of resistance to a change that has already occurred inwardly. By dwelling in the I AM, you let the old image fade and welcome the established reign of your true kingdom.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and imagine riding in a chariot of awareness toward Jezreel inside your mind. Say softly, 'I AM the new king here—peace is established,' and feel the old self bowing to your inner decree.
