Inner Sight, Safe Passage
2 Kings 6:19-21 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 2 Kings 6 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Elisha guides the soldiers to Samaria, asks for their eyes to be opened, and they awaken to the truth that they are already in Samaria; the king then contemplates whether to strike or show mercy.
Neville's Inner Vision
Picture yourself as Elisha within the sanctuary of your own consciousness. The marching soldiers are your fears and misbeliefs at the gates of awareness. You do not cast them into distant judgement but guide them toward the heart of your kingdom—the Samaria of the mind—where sight is restored. When you cry, 'Open their eyes,' you are awakening a deeper seeing: the land you seek is not somewhere outside you but the very state of awareness you inhabit now. The I AM is the living city, and by revising the scene from threat to invitation, you reveal that you are safe, here, now. The king’s question—Shall I smite them?—is your inner dialog about what to do with projections. Do you crush them or welcome them? The true answer is mercy and grace, choosing to nourish the visions rather than destroy them. Providence flows as your present awareness, not as an external power. In this moment, the adversary dissolves into companionship, and safety is realized through your inner state of consciousness.
Practice This Now
Assume the role of Elisha in your mind and revise the scene so that fear-guided troops enter your own inner Samaria; then, with your next breath, imagine opening their eyes and feeling safe, seen, and guided by your I AM.
