Inner Eyes on the Host
2 Kings 6:15-17 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 2 Kings 6 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The passage shows fear in the servant, followed by Elisha's reassurance that God's forces surround them; when the servant's eyes are opened, he sees the mountain full of fire and horses protecting the prophet.
Neville's Inner Vision
From the level of consciousness, the city is a state I inhabit, and the host is the vibrational army of my I AM. When the servant fears the encircling host, Elisha teaches that the power is not in outward numbers but in the alignment of awareness with the divine presence that already guards me. 'They that be with us are more than they that be with them' becomes the truth inside my being: I am surrounded by an invisible company—the higher self, the faculties of imagination, the fire of intuition. The opening of the servant's eyes is my cue to shift; once I acknowledge the unseen host standing with me, fear dissolves and I perceive life as filled with protective energy. I practice by revising every alarm into the certainty of inner protection, letting my thoughts move with that host. In me lies a mountain of fire, proof that I am never abandoned by the I AM.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and revise fear with the statement, 'I am surrounded by the host of God in my consciousness.' See in your mind's eye the mountains filled with horses and chariots of fire encircling you, and feel the protection now.
