Eyes Open to Inner Fire
2 Kings 6:14-17 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Elisha and his servant confront a threatening host; Elisha assures fear is unwarranted because the invisible protection of God is greater, and the servant's eyes are opened to see it.
Neville's Inner Vision
Your city is your consciousness; the horses and chariots are thoughts and energies arrayed against you in the theater of sense. In the scene, the outer army surrounding the walls is but a symbol of a state of fear you entertain. Elisha speaks not to the world but to the I AM within: Fear not, for they that be with us are more than they that be with them. The moment the prayer is spoken, the servant's inner sight is opened; the mountain becomes full of fire and chariots—an image of the ever-present guard of God around your own being. This story reveals that God is not distant but the very activity of your awareness—the activity you call I AM. When you identify with that presence, the perceived threat dissolves, because you unrealize the larger truth: there is a host within you that outnumbers any external power. Practice by assuming you are already encircled by divine protection; revise any fear by repeating, I AM one with the I AM, and feel the reality of that protection now.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and dwell in the sense that you are encircled by divine fire. Calmly affirm, The I AM presence surrounds me now; I am safe, guided, and supported by the host of God.
