Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The king of Syria is troubled and asks which of his servants betrays him to Israel; a servant replies that none do, for Elisha the prophet in Israel reveals the words spoken in the king's private chamber.
Neville's Inner Vision
In Neville's manner, the tremble of the outer king is your mind reacting to the fear of exposure by the light of awareness. The servants are restless thoughts flitting about, while Elisha—the prophet in Israel—is your inner I AM, the constant consciousness that hears and reveals the private words you utter in the bedchamber of your mind. The verse teaches that what you fear in the world is not a real enemy out there, but the revelation of your own inner chatter. When your inner prophet exposes those whispered thoughts, it does not punish you; it liberates you by showing the state of your consciousness. Therefore, you can deliberately revise: assume the higher fact that you are the awareness that knows every thought and has the power to reframe them. By identifying with the I AM and its sovereign seeing, the imagined threat loses power and your throne—the kingly authority of your consciousness—is restored.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and imagine Elisha within you listening to your private thoughts; revise them by declaring, "I am the awareness that knows my thoughts, and I choose peace, clarity, and royal authority now," then feel it real.
