Biblical Context
The sons of the prophets recognize their dwelling is too small, decide to go to the Jordan to fetch beams, and Elisha agrees to accompany them as they begin building a larger place.
Neville's Inner Vision
The place that is said to be too strait is a state of awareness, not a room. Their move to Jordan is a turning of attention into the flow of life, where thoughts become form. The beams are the mental materials—beliefs, hopes, and decisions—each man bringing a piece to a shared project. Elisha's consent to go with them signals the inner guide, the I AM, assisting the shift of consciousness. As they cut wood and transport it to a new site, they are literally constructing a larger interior dwelling; community and unity become the means by which consciousness expands. The act of building together multiplies the capacity of the soul to hold truth. See limitation as a construct to be revised by imagination, supported by a living sense of self that you call forth now. The kingdom within grows as you align with your inner circle and begin to lay down a new mental framework that can house greater revelation.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and feel your inner circle moving with you toward a Jordan you recognize as the flow of life. Pick one limitation and, today, imagine turning it into a beam by writing or affirming one concrete revision, then feel the new space already real.
