2 Kings 4:30-31

Biblical Context

A mother's steadfast commitment to the prophet mirrors a steadfast inner commitment to one's true nature. External signs and rites fail to wake what lies asleep until consciousness itself awakens.

Neville's Inner Vision

In this passage, the mother’s vow—'As the LORD liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee'—is a decision of consciousness, a resolve that the I AM will not abandon the desire. Gehazi's staff and the ritual of awakening are but outward symbols; they awaken nothing unless accompanied by the inner recognition that the I AM is present and active. The child represents a vitality within you that appears asleep; the moment you refuse to depart from your inner truth, Elijah (your divine awareness) rises to follow. Healing comes not through external acts but through steadfast assumption, the feeling that the wish is already fulfilled, and the inner sense that consciousness is attending to your life. When you align with this inner I AM, the deadness yields to life, and the waking becomes a natural expression of your being.

Practice This Now

Practice: Stand in the feeling, 'I am the I AM; this life wakes now,' and refuse to abandon the inner vow. For a few minutes, imagine the inner Elijah approaching, restoring vitality to the sleeping child within.
