Vessels Of Imaginative Abundance

2 Kings 4:3-4 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 2 Kings 4 in context

Scripture Focus

3Then he said, Go, borrow thee vessels abroad of all thy neighbours, even empty vessels; borrow not a few.
4And when thou art come in, thou shalt shut the door upon thee and upon thy sons, and shalt pour out into all those vessels, and thou shalt set aside that which is full.
2 Kings 4:3-4

Biblical Context

A widow is told to borrow many empty vessels, return home with her sons, shut the door, pour oil into every vessel, and set aside what becomes full.

Neville's Inner Vision

All of life is born from states of consciousness. The vessels are inner conditions; the oil is the continual presence of awareness (I AM). To borrow vessels is to summon other aspects of your being—courage, health, prosperity—already present as seeds awaiting expression. The empty vessels invite your imagination to fill them. Shutting the door means withdrawing attention from external noise and entering the realm of pure awareness. Pouring oil into each vessel is the act of extending the feeling of your wish fulfilled into every state you call into being. When a vessel fills, you set aside that which is full, a practical acknowledgment that the fulfilled state is already present in consciousness. The miracle is realized not by forcing events, but by recognizing that God—the I AM—flows into all forms. By assuming the end now and distributing that assumption across your inner vessels, you align your life with the reality you desire.

Practice This Now

In a quiet moment, imagine entering a door, seeing several empty vessels labeled with desired life aspects, and feel the oil of your wish filling them all; rest in the sense of fullness as if it is already yours.
