Inner Temple Unshaken

2 Kings 25:13-17 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 2 Kings 25 in context

Scripture Focus

13And the pillars of brass that were in the house of the LORD, and the bases, and the brasen sea that was in the house of the LORD, did the Chaldees break in pieces, and carried the brass of them to Babylon.
14And the pots, and the shovels, and the snuffers, and the spoons, and all the vessels of brass wherewith they ministered, took they away.
15And the firepans, and the bowls, and such things as were of gold, in gold, and of silver, in silver, the captain of the guard took away.
16The two pillars, one sea, and the bases which Solomon had made for the house of the LORD; the brass of all these vessels was without weight.
17The height of the one pillar was eighteen cubits, and the chapiter upon it was brass: and the height of the chapiter three cubits; and the wreathen work, and pomegranates upon the chapiter round about, all of brass: and like unto these had the second pillar with wreathen work.

Biblical Context

The text describes the breaking and removal of temple brass—pillars, the sea, and vessels—carried away to Babylon. This shows external forms are removed while the sacred space endures in consciousness.

Neville's Inner Vision

Note that the markers of external wealth—the pillars, the brass sea, the gold and silver vessels—are not annihilated by the inner God, but removed from a physical temple to far lands. In Neville's counsel, such pieces represent fixed outer supports in your life—habits, possessions, reputations—that seem to secure your supply. When the outer forms are broken, you are invited to shift the center of gravity from objects to the I AM that constitutes your being. The 'captain of the guard' who takes away gold and silver stands for your own tendency to surrender reliance on appearance; yet the inner temple remains, and its light is not diminished. The inner truth is that your wealth is not in matter but in consciousness. The outer destruction is a call to revision: you must realize that the temple's power flows from awareness, not brass. By returning your attention to the I AM, you revive the temple within, and the apparent loss becomes evidence of a deeper, perpetual provision.

Practice This Now

Sit quietly and assume the sentence: 'The temple of my consciousness remains intact; I AM wealth.' Feel this now as a lived truth for several breaths.
