2 Kings 23:24

Biblical Context

Josiah removed the workers with familiar spirits, the wizards, the images, and the idols to fulfill the words of the law found in the house of the LORD. The verse shows purging inner distractions to align with divine instruction.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within you is the silent I AM, the living law that writes itself when you are still enough to hear it. The 'familiar spirits' and 'images' are inner states—beliefs, fears, attachments—that pretend to govern your world. Josiah’s act is your invitation to awaken to the law written in the book Hilkiah found, the truth inscribed in the temple of your mind. When you decide to put away these abominations, you stop feeding the old story and enroll yourself in the imagination of the end: that you are governed by the inner law. Practice by assuming the state of the law now, revise any fear as unnecessary, and feel it real that you are free. As attention returns to I AM, the idol images lose their power, and your life begins to reflect the inner decree you have chosen. The book is inside you; the temple is within you; you are the one who reads and lives by it.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and picture Josiah within your inner temple sweeping away the familiar spirits, wizards, images, and idols. Then assume the state of the law is written in you and feel it real now.
