Inner Idol Breaker
2 Kings 23:14 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 2 Kings 23 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The verse shows the king destroying idols and sacred trees and filling the spaces with the bones of men. It signals a cleansing of outward symbols that protected false worship and prepares the heart for true devotion.
Neville's Inner Vision
Consider the images you have worshipped in your inner room—the pictures of lack, fear, or separation. The king's act to break the images and cut down the groves is your internal decision to stop rehearsing those images and to stop giving them life with attention. By breaking them, you expose the bare space of consciousness where old beliefs once lived. Then you fill that space with the bones of men—the stubborn memories of an ego you thought governed you—so that there is a visible sign that the old order is finished. In Neville's terms, you do not simply erase; you replace. The replacement is the realization that the I AM is the only ruler here, and your imagination is the instrument by which you awaken to that fact. When you revise, you do not attack your past; you reposition your awareness. The temple is cleared, truth re-enters as your state of being, and the groves of attachment wither before the radiant liberty of the divine I AM. This act is inward sanctification: a right ordering of your inner life so that your day is governed by the living presence within.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: In a quiet moment, close your eyes and declare I AM the ruler of your mind. See the images of lack and fear shatter, then fill the empty space with a bright, living light that affirms your oneness with God.
