Read 2 Kings 21 in context

Scripture Focus

20And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, as his father Manasseh did.
21And he walked in all the way that his father walked in, and served the idols that his father served, and worshipped them:
22And he forsook the LORD God of his fathers, and walked not in the way of the LORD.
2 Kings 21:20-22

Biblical Context

2 Kings 21:20–22 shows Amon doing evil, following his father Manasseh's idolatrous ways. He worshipped idols and forsook the LORD, choosing a pattern of false worship over true allegiance.

Neville's Inner Vision

Think of Amon as a symbol of a mind clinging to familiar pictures about power and security filled with idol like beliefs that promise results while ruling from fear. The outward acts reveal an inner state that has forgotten the I AM sovereign within. Neville would say there is only the I AM here and now and the mind that worships idols is simply misdirected attention. If you find yourself serving idols in your life, remember they are signs of a deeper belief that you can heal by revision. The healing is to claim the I AM as your one true governor and to let the old pattern dissolve into dream image. When you revise the inner scene and declare that you are one with the I AM and that the external world shifts to reflect that inner alignment, you restore the true worship. The fall described in this verse is a fall in consciousness not in a distant temple; you rise again by returning to the inner temple and honoring the Lord within.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Sit quietly and assume the state I AM as your governing consciousness. Revise the scene by declaring I am one with the I AM and idols have no power here, then feel that alignment as real.
