Inner Consequences Unveiled

2 Kings 21:14-15 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 2 Kings 21 in context

Scripture Focus

14And I will forsake the remnant of mine inheritance, and deliver them into the hand of their enemies; and they shall become a prey and a spoil to all their enemies;
15Because they have done that which was evil in my sight, and have provoked me to anger, since the day their fathers came forth out of Egypt, even unto this day.
2 Kings 21:14-15

Biblical Context

God declares the remnant will be forsaken and handed over to enemies because the people have done evil in His sight from Egypt to today.

Neville's Inner Vision

The remnant is the inner kingdom of you—your divine inheritance—while the enemies are the restless thoughts and fears that pull you outward. When you repeatedly choose the image of lack, or the memory of bondage, you align with a state that is 'not I AM,' and you forsake that inward remnant, letting it become prey to outer circumstances. The text speaks in the language of judgment, but in the Neville sense it reveals a law of consciousness: what you persist in imagining about yourself as separate from God, you invite into your experience as if it were real. Since the days of bondage in Egypt until now, you have, in moments, entertained the belief that you are other than the I AM, and so you experience resistance as if enemies ruled you. Yet the remedy is simple: awaken to the awareness that you are the I AM, and assume the state of the remnant intact, unafraid, and untouched by external scenes. When you return to that inner fact, the 'enemy' condition dissolves, and your inheritance is restored.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Sit quietly, place a hand on your heart, and declare, 'I am the I AM; I am the remnant inheritance restored.' Then feel the state of inner peace and dwell there for a few minutes.
