Read 2 Kings 20 in context

Scripture Focus

11And Isaiah the prophet cried unto the LORD: and he brought the shadow ten degrees backward, by which it had gone down in the dial of Ahaz.
2 Kings 20:11

Biblical Context

The verse shows Isaiah praying and the shadow on Ahaz's dial moving backward by ten degrees, signaling divinely guided change.

Neville's Inner Vision

Here the outer miracle is but a symbol of an inner revision. In Neville’s sense, the shadow is a state of mind—the downward direction of time or circumstance you think you are under. The prophet's cry is not petitioning some distant God, but awakening your own awareness to the fact that you are the I AM, the living awareness that orders all things. When you hold faith and rest in that awareness, the dial of your life can turn backward, and what you deemed fixed in time and place softens. The backward movement is a proof that the mind is the origin of change; God is your awareness, and the shadow you see on the dial is the old belief that you are separated from health, success, or peace. By turning inward and imagining the desired end as already present, you align with Providence, and the external sign follows as naturally as dawn follows night. So, the 'ten degrees' is simply a measure of the degree of alignments you permit in your consciousness.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, breathe, and affirm: I am the I AM, and I have already moved past this situation. In your mind, watch the dial of your life turn ten degrees backward and feel the relief of the fulfilled promise.
