Inner Jordan Crossing of Kings
2 Kings 2:8-14 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Elijah parts the Jordan with his mantle, and he and Elisha cross on dry ground. After Elijah is taken, Elisha receives his mantle, asks for a double portion of Elijah's spirit, and re-crosses the Jordan by striking the waters.
Neville's Inner Vision
Here the waters are not a literal river but the movement of your own consciousness. Elijah’s mantle represents a decided act of imagination: you clothe yourself with a higher state and the river parts to your new footing. Elisha’s request for a double portion is a statement of inner apprenticeship, a pledge to sustain a stronger mode of awareness rather than a gift from outside. The ascent of Elijah and the fire-chariot are symbols of the energy that shifts attention from one state to another. When you stay in the vision, you perceive that the LORD God of Elijah is the power within you, the I AM that stands beneath every experience. The crossing is your willingness to move from limitation to possibility, from fear to faith, by choosing and feeling the new state until it becomes your immediate reality.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and imagine you are Elijah's successor, wearing a mantle of higher authority. Then softly declare, 'Where is the LORD God of Elijah?' and, by feeling it real, sense the waters divide and you cross over on dry ground.
