Biblical Context
Elisha takes Elijah's mantle and returns to the Jordan. He then strikes the waters and passes over as the waters part.
Neville's Inner Vision
Elisha’s mantle is not a piece of clothing but a shift in consciousness—the consent given to claim a higher state. The scene is a model of your own inward passage: the transfer of power from one consciousness to another, from yesterday’s vision to today’s proof. When Elisha asks, 'Where is the LORD God of Elijah?' he is not appealing to some far-off force; he is arousing the I AM that you already are, the aware being that stood at the banks of your Jordan before you even spoke. The waters shift not because Elijah stands elsewhere, but because the conviction of God within is acknowledged as present. Taking up the mantle is an act of self-recognition: you already possess the prophetic mind, the authority to decree and see. The parted waters symbolize the dissolution of limitation that occurs when you inhabit the truth that God is the I AM here and now. Your current life becomes a demonstration of that truth, for you are the one who moves in this consciousness, and the world follows your lead. In this light, inheritance is simply the awakening to your own unity with divine presence.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Stand before a mental Jordan, close your eyes, and imagine you are wearing Elijah’s mantle. As you breathe in, declare 'I AM' and ask, 'Where is the LORD God of Elijah?' feel the waters yield and part, guiding you across.
