Inner Deliverance by I Am
2 Kings 18:33-35 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 2 Kings 18 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Two verses challenge foreign gods and question whether Yahweh can deliver Jerusalem. The inner reading sees the mind's doubts as outward voice, while true deliverance comes from the I Am within.
Neville's Inner Vision
Think of the 'gods' of Hamath and Arpad as nothing more than imagined powers in your own consciousness. The world’s kings and their shrines are symbols for fixed beliefs, the inner 'delivering' of lands becomes the mind's assurance of control. The king of Assyria stands for doubt, the urge to prove power by external authorities. When you hear his taunt—'Who among the gods...?'—recognize it as the mind testing possible outcomes, not a fact about reality. The true force here is not a nation or a shrine but the I Am—your awareness, the I within you that remains unmoved by seeming threats. Jerusalem represents your settled state of inner peace, your alignment with divine law. The moment you revise the scene and declare that the I Am has already delivered Jerusalem, you release the spell of fear and begin to live from certainty. Providence and guidance are not distant favors; they are the natural rhythm of consciousness when you accept who you are: the observer and the power by which all things are created.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and declare, 'I am the I Am; my inner Jerusalem is delivered now.' Visualize a calm center within you, immune to external taunts, and feel your inner state remain secure.
