Inner Trust Against Deception
2 Kings 18:29-31 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 2 Kings 18 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
An Assyrian king taunts the people to distrust Hezekiah and the LORD, insisting they surrender for safety. The scene contrasts worldly power with the promise that true deliverance comes from inner faith.
Neville's Inner Vision
The outer king of Assyria represents a loud belief of threat pressing against your awareness. He whispers, 'you cannot be delivered; do not trust in the LORD.' Yet in your imagination you hear this not as fact but as a temporary projection of your fear. The truth is: the inner state of you, the I AM, is your deliverer, and you are never at the mercy of a power outside your own consciousness. The moment you assent to fear, you yield your sense of being to 'another king' and invite insecurity to plant in your mind. But you can revise by assuming the feeling of deliverance now. Tell yourself: I AM the deliverer; no external policy, no threat, can override my inner trust. See the city not as a place to defend, but as your own awareness, secure in the I AM. Offer no present to fear; treat fear as a dream role, dissolving in the light of awareness. When you feel the feel-it-real assurance that the LORD is your shield, the 'city' is saved by your own inner decision.
Practice This Now
Assume the feeling of deliverance now by declaring, 'I AM the deliverer within me.' Revise the fear as a dream and dwell in the awareness that your true refuge is your inner I AM.
