Inner Cavalry of Trust
2 Kings 18:23-24 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 2 Kings 18 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
An envoy of Assyria offers a bargain of horses and mocks Hezekiah's reliance on Egypt. The scene shows a choice between external supports and inner trust in the I AM.
Neville's Inner Vision
An envoy's words in the text do not threaten a distant king; they reveal a state of consciousness asking to be fed by outward measures. The two thousand horses symbolize the many supposed supplies you think you must conjure through alliances, programs, or status. The challenge—'set riders upon them'—exposes the recurring habit of trying to outfit your ego with external power. The taunt about trusting Egypt for chariots and horsemen points to the mind's old dependence on visible props rather than the unseeable Power within. Neville would say: God is the I AM behind every scene, and imagination is the instrument by which reality is formed. When you identify with the thinker who believes in scarcity or danger, you align with the messenger of the outer world; when you identify with the I AM, you revise the assumption and feel the reality of supply now. The event becomes inner movement: a decision to trust the inner captain, not the least of your fears. By dwelling in the feeling that you already possess the whole caravan of supply, you awaken the power that creates it.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume you already possess the full supply within. Feel the I AM as your immediate power and revise fear until it feels real.
