Inner Kingship Revisited

2 Kings 17:2 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 2 Kings 17 in context

Scripture Focus

2And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, but not as the kings of Israel that were before him.
2 Kings 17:2

Biblical Context

The verse portrays a king who does evil in the sight of the LORD, yet not as evil as the kings before him.

Neville's Inner Vision

In the story, the king's outward evil is not a condemnation of your entire being, but a revealing of an inner state of consciousness that has drifted from your true I AM. God (the I AM) is awareness; the LORD you fear is the throne of your attention. When you observe your present actions as evil only in comparison to a more intense past, you unlock the possibility of revision. The past kings represent previous self-states—habits of thinking that seem greater because you have not yet awakened your power. Your task is not to condemn but to shift your inner weather: imagine yourself now as the sovereign consciousness who reigns with obedience to I AM, however imperfect the previous reigns may have appeared. By exercising the implicit authority of awareness, you diminish the grip of those former states and invite a new alignment—one where your every choice is a choice to return to the truth within you. The moment you assume this higher state, the inner moves align with divine order, and outward appearances begin to harmonize with your revised sense of self.

Practice This Now

Assume the I AM as your sole ruler in the mind and revise the record by affirming I have obeyed the I AM and moved beyond my former, lesser states. Then feel that truth as real now.
