Neville's Inner Vision
2 Kings 14:4 speaks of high places that were not removed, and the people still sacrificed there. In Neville’s interpretation, those high places are states of consciousness, not places on a map. They are the lingering beliefs, appetites, and habits you tolerate because you have not yet reassessed them in the light of I AM. The king within you can reform outward life only when the inner shrine has been transformed. The verse shows that mere reform of outward idols is incomplete unless consciousness is rebuilt. Therefore, you must not battle the memory of the old altar, but dwell in a new assumption until it becomes your felt reality: you are the I AM, and there is no other power. Begin by recognizing that the high places exist only as a picture your imagination continues to support. Then revise by declaring, inwardly and with feeling, that the altar is the altar of the I AM, where all incense is offered to truth and unity. As you persist in that feeling, images of lack, fear, or separation lose their potency; they fade, and the inner shrine becomes the throne of living reality.
Practice This Now
Assume the end you desire and revise the scene until it feels real: the high places are removed in your mind, and the I AM sits on the throne. Sit in silence and feel the unity as the new altar shines.
