The verse notes that Joash’s remaining deeds and his battles against Amaziah are recorded in the chronicles of the kings.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within me, Joash is not a person but a state of consciousness I entertain. The rest of his acts and the might with which he fought are inner movements I permit to surface as outer events only because I grant them power with my attention. The book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel is not a distant archive but the inner record I carry in mind, a library where I inscribe what I now accept as real about myself. When I imagine reading those chronicles, I realize I am the author of every act, and the battles I confront are the discipline by which I claim sovereignty within. Amaziah represents resistance within—those thoughts that seek to define me by fear or circumstance. The victory, then, is not in changing the scenery outside, but in affirming my identity as the I AM, the sole governor of my inner kingdom. If I wait for history to prove me, I mistake the script; all appearances are the outward reflections of an inner decree I have already issued.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes, breathe deeply, and assume the feeling that the rest of your acts are already written in your inner Chronicles. Silently decree, It is done; I am the author of my life, and feel that reality now.
