Neville's Inner Vision
Suppose I read this as a parable of consciousness. The money entrusted to the 'workmen' is my energy, my attention, the mental funds I devote to the renovation of the temple of my mind. The line that they 'reckoned not with the men' says: withdraw my attention from outer appearance and turn to the inner governor—the I AM that is mindful of truth. The workmen, those inner faculties, perform their tasks faithfully not by chance but by the law of consciousness operating through me when I persist in the belief. In this sense, I do not need to audit the world or the messengers; I audit the state I am in. If I assume that I have supplied what I seek, and feel it as real now, the inner funds circulate to the places needing repair, and the temple is restored. The faithfulness described is the faithful keeping of my word to myself—an assurance that the mind’s accounting aligns with the truth of my being. Therefore, my practical act is to imagine I have delivered the exact amount of energy to my inner workers and trust their faithful service.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and declare, 'I am the I AM, and I have faithfully supplied all the funds for the temple of my mind.' See the inner workmen at their tasks; feel the calm assurance of faithful administration.
