Inner Temple Renovation

2 Kings 12:1-6 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 2 Kings 12 in context

Scripture Focus

1In the seventh year of Jehu Jehoash began to reign; and forty years reigned he in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Zibiah of Beersheba.
2And Jehoash did that which was right in the sight of the LORD all his days wherein Jehoiada the priest instructed him.
3But the high places were not taken away: the people still sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places.
4And Jehoash said to the priests, All the money of the dedicated things that is brought into the house of the LORD, even the money of every one that passeth the account, the money that every man is set at, and all the money that cometh into any man's heart to bring into the house of the LORD,
5Let the priests take it to them, every man of his acquaintance: and let them repair the breaches of the house, wheresoever any breach shall be found.
6But it was so, that in the three and twentieth year of king Jehoash the priests had not repaired the breaches of the house.
2 Kings 12:1-6

Biblical Context

Jehoash does what is right under priestly guidance and funds the temple's repairs. Yet the high places remain, and the breaches are not fully repaired even after many years.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within you the 'house of the LORD' is the field of awareness; Jehoash is the I that agrees to do what is right when guided by the inner priest. The high places are lingering habits that still offer incense to old impulses. The money mentioned—the dedicated offerings, the tallying of every man's contribution, and the heart's own influx—represents the energy you invest in this inner sanctuary. When you tell the priests to repair the breaches with that money, you are directing your attention and imagination to mend the cracks in your mind. The record that the repairs were not completed after many years signals that reform without inner conviction remains incomplete. So you must assume a new state: that your inner temple is already repaired by the power of your I AM. Allow the walls to glow, imagine the gaps sealed, and feel the sanctuary alive with undisturbed peace. Your devotion is not about changing outward forms but about becoming the consciousness that fills every room. Persist in this assumption and alignment, and the outer life follows the inner alignment you have already chosen.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Close your eyes and assume I AM is the temple-builder; imagine directing the energy of attention to mend every crack, and feel the light filling the sanctuary as you declare the house complete now.
