Guarded King Within the Temple
2 Kings 11:11 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 2 Kings 11 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The verse shows guards with weapons forming a protective ring around the king, encircling the temple and altar.
Neville's Inner Vision
Think of the king as your I AM—the living center of awareness you carry. The guards, armed and arranged around the temple, are the dispositions of mind you have allowed to stand watch. They encircle from corner to corner, along by the altar and temple, not as external soldiers but as the boundaries your imagination has drawn around your sacred center. When you, in imagination, assume a feeling of safety, authority, or blessing, you are placing a mental ring over the throne: you are insisting that nothing false can invade your consciousness. In Neville's teaching, the presence of God is the I AM presence in action; this ring is God’s ring in your own psyche, keeping your inner king intact as you walk through appearances. So if fear or limitation arises, revise the scene by reaffirming, I AM the king, and this circle of awareness guards my reality. Practice in the stillness: feel yourself seated, surrounded by the guard, and dwell in the assurance that your reality follows your assumption.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: In a quiet moment, visualize a circle of guards around your inner king and feel your I AM throne secure. Dwell in the sense that this surrounding consciousness guards your reality.
