Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Athaliah destroys the royal seed, but Jehosheba hides Joash with his nurse in the house of the LORD for six years. In the seventh year, Jehoiada gathers the leaders, crowns Joash, and restores covenant faith by ending Baal worship.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within you, the old queen Athaliah embodies the tyranny of fear, the voice that would kill your royal seed by casting doubt on your sovereignty. In the inner sanctuary, Jehoiada stands as the disciplined will, gathering the guards of attention and binding them with a covenant of awareness. He sets a plan: a watch over your inner king, with the loyalty of mind and feeling. Your belief-system becomes the 'rulers over hundreds,' who must be stationed, armored, and protected so the king can be revealed. Then the king is brought forth, crowned in your consciousness, and the testimony of your true identity is proclaimed: God save the king. At first you hear treason from the old fear, but the priestly jurisdiction insists: bring the queen out and slay the old dream; let Baal be cast from your inner temple. The covenant is not external politics but your alignment with the LORD in you; the people of your life respond with quiet joy as sovereignty awakens. The king begins to reign now, in present awareness, not in the distant future.
Practice This Now
Take a quiet moment to assume the king within: crown your awareness and declare, I am sovereign now. Feel the reality of that kingliness until it governs your day.
