Ruling the Inner House
2 Kings 10:9-11 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 2 Kings 10 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Jehu publicly declares a purge of Ahab’s house and ascribes it to righteous intent. The text then asserts that God’s word to Elijah is fulfilled, removing all who belonged to Ahab.
Neville's Inner Vision
Jehu embodies a state of consciousness that acts decisively. When he says, 'I conspired against my master,' he signals a shift in allegiance from the old self to a new order governed by the I AM. The 'master' is not a person to be killed, but the familiar self you have depended upon; the crowd listening to him are the visible results of that old state in your life. The question 'who slew all these?' asks you to recognize that it is your inner decree—your now-chosen state—that births outer results. The LORD's word, spoken by Elijah, is the inner law that cannot fail; it is the mechanism by which a steadfast assumption converts potential into actuality. As you persist in the new state, the remnants of the former self—habits, beliefs, loyalties—are dissolved, leaving no room for the old identity to govern. The purge, then, is spiritual, not punitive: it is the demonstration that you are the I AM ruling in you, and that the divine promise is always kept when you dwell in the present assumption of the new king.
Practice This Now
Imaginative_act: Assume the new state now by stating, 'From this moment I am the I AM who rules my life.' Close your eyes, feel the sufficiency of this kingly I AM, and revise any lingering thought of the old self until it loses its power.
