The Inner Ruler Emerges
2 Kings 10:5-6 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 2 Kings 10 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The officials pledge loyalty to Jehu and reject any new king, then Jehu dictates a second summons to seize the king’s heirs, demanding they be brought to Jezreel.
Neville's Inner Vision
In your inner world, the house, city, elders, and upbringing are facets of consciousness bowing to a new ruling idea named Jehu. When they declare, we are thy servants and will do all thou bid, and we will not make any king, you reveal the moment you yield to a higher image and suppress the old king as sovereign. Jehu’s letter, If ye be mine, and if ye will hearken unto my voice, take ye the heads of the men your master's sons, and come to me to Jezreel by tomorrow this time, becomes a symbolic decree to prune away the old self. The seventy sons represent many aspects of former identities nourished by social conditioning—the great men of the city. The heads symbolize shedding those identities; Jezreel is the place within where the new order takes root, and tomorrow this time is the immediacy of realization when you stay aligned with the new ruler. By affirming this inner loyalty, the old self dissolves and the inner kingdom begins to reign.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes, breathe, and declare: I am the ruler of my inner kingdom now; I hearken to the voice that reigns within. See the old identities fall away and feel the new order established in you.
