Purging Baal Within
2 Kings 10:18-28 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Jehu gathers the people and purges Baal worship: he kills the worshippers, burns the idols, and destroys Baal's temple.
Neville's Inner Vision
Inside the mind, Baal stands for a false worship that pretends to life yet feeds on fear, status, or lack. Jehu, in you, is the ruling idea—the I AM in action—driving a decisive act to purge whatever does not belong to that true state. The so-called great sacrifice is your willingness to release the old self and its attachments. The solemn assembly is not a crowd honored in a temple, but the gathering of every belief, every habit, every impulse that supports the old idol. When you announce a cleansing, you invite the inner guards of attention to stand firm and close the door to any thought that would escape the purge; the life of the new state rests on your fidelity to this revision. The images are removed, the house is burned and broken down, and the old sanctuary becomes a mere draught house—a symbol that the former life cannot hold you any longer. The result is that Baal is removed from your inner Israel, and the one true worship—your awareness—the I AM—remains as sovereign.
Practice This Now
Practice: In a moment of quiet, assume the role of Jehu within your mind and declare that Baal's worship is finished; call forth all your beliefs and burn their symbols; then feel the new state—the I AM—as already real.
