Inner Boundaries Of Doctrine
2 John 1:9-11 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 2 John 1 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The passage states that those who depart from Christ’s teaching do not have God, while those who remain in the doctrine have the Father and the Son. It also warns not to welcome or bless those who teach otherwise, for blessing them associates you with their deeds.
Neville's Inner Vision
In the theater of your consciousness, the ‘doctrine of Christ’ is the alignment of your I AM with truth. To transgress is to drift from that inner standard; to abide is to stay anchored in the Father and the Son within. When someone comes bearing a contrary doctrine, you are not asked to judge them outwardly, but to guard the doors of your mind—do not invite the belief into your inner house, and do not bless it with your assent. To bid God-speed is to affirm a path that your inner sight rejects; thus, you become a partaker in the moral condition existing in that state of consciousness. The command is a mercy: preserve your inner alignment so that your world reflects the Father and the Son living as one. Your task is to prune thoughts that disturb this unity, not to condemn others, for consciousness yields its own weather based on what it accepts as true.
Practice This Now
Assume you are already abiding in Christ’s doctrine; in the moment you sense a contrary teaching, close the door inwardly and affirm, 'I am one with the Father and the Son; I am abiding in the truth.'
