Inner Christ Doctrine Revealed

2 John 1:7-11 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 2 John 1 in context

Scripture Focus

7For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.
8Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward.
9Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.
10If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:
11For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.
2 John 1:7-11

Biblical Context

Many deceivers have entered the world, denying that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh, and the text urges vigilance to preserve what faith has wrought so you may receive a full reward. It also calls you to avoid welcoming or endorsing teachings that depart from Christ's doctrine, for such endorsement makes you a participant in error.

Neville's Inner Vision

Here the warning is not about distant outsiders but about the inner states of your mind. Deceivers are thoughts that pretend to truth yet deny the living Christ within; to them you must not give your assent or your acknowledgment. Look to yourselves means attend to your own consciousness, for every belief you entertain either agrees with or denies the Christ consciousness you are seeking to awaken. To abide in the doctrine of Christ is to dwell in the awareness that the Father and the Son are one within you, that I AM, the awareness that you are, is the same substance as the divine. When someone comes with a different teaching, do not invite it into your house of mind, and do not bid it God speed, for to do so is to authorize its energy in your life. The full reward is the complete realization of unity with God through Christ within you, a state where every action and perception flows from that truth. Practice: close your eyes, assume you are the Christ now arising in your own being, and feel the oneness as your present reality.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: close your eyes and assume the Christ within is your immediate reality; for a minute revise any belief that denies unity and feel the divine truth alive in you.
