Face to Face Joyful Reunion
2 John 1:12-13 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 2 John 1 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
John wishes to come and speak face to face rather than write with ink. He teaches that true joy is found in direct, personal fellowship.
Neville's Inner Vision
To Neville, the verse is not about travel or letter vs. presence, but about the inner shift from separation to unity. When John says he would come and speak face to face, he is naming the state of consciousness in which you are already in communion with another in the I AM. Paper and ink symbolize the old habit of thinking apart; the coming in person represents the living reality of your indwelling God, the I AM, meeting another in one field of awareness. The joy that 'may be full' is the natural expression of recognizing that you and the other are one and the same inner self. The greeting of the elect sister's children is the sign that your inner state has moved from lack to abundance—your inner family is already present, and you are merely aware of it. Thus, the scriptural event is a map of revision: renew your sense of relationship until you feel the presence of your spiritual family as your own. Practice is to assume that you are already with them, and let the feeling of fullness rise as your daily reality.
Practice This Now
Assume the state of being with your spiritual family now; feel their greeting and let the full joy of that gathering wash over you. Do this as a brief revision and let it color your day.
